Our 2024 Vintage needs your help! We'll deliver you an excellent deal on hand-crafted wines.
UPDATE TO OUR STORY….

We reached our target and this has allowed us to book the bottling with our winemaker. It’s all go for the week of May 11th! When we started this campaign, we set aside a certain number of rewards and we’d like to honor that number, so it’s not too late to grab one of the few remaining rewards. Thanks to all those who pledged (and to those of you who may do so after reading our story)…it’s meant the world to us.
Bruce & Rebekah x

For those of you who don’t know us, we are small (perhaps tiny!) Bickley Valley vineyard/winery/restaurant in the Perth Hills Wine Region. We are blessed to be a part of a community that is both welcoming and supportive.
Since the recent restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, our industry has been decimated. There is an assumption that winery folk are upwardly mobile and dabbling in vineyards for fun. This couldn’t be further from the truth. Our vineyard, business, and home are all on one property, so we have EVERYTHING on the line. Making wine on the scale we do cannot support a family and we work other jobs to make things work.
The timing of the virus's spread has left us in a precarious situation. We have no other income from the property, and there is a chain of folks who now rely on the wine-making process to pay their bills (us included!).

Enough doom and gloom
V2020 was shaping up to be a ripper. We experienced hot and dry conditions throughout the growing season, and the blossoms were out in abundance which meant we had no bird damage to the vineyard for the first time in years. Yields were down across the region, but the fruit was amazing. It would be a tragedy for this not to make it onto tables around Australia.
Did we mention that our vineyard is tiny? We have 1.5 acres of vines! We need $10,000 to get V2024 bottling started and we’re prepared to do what we can to make it work. Anything over and above this will go towards finishing our current vintage of red wines so that perhaps we can offer these in 2025 when they are ready. Other than ourselves, this has knock-on effects on our suppliers. These people, just like us, are families who are just trying to survive in an industry that potentially could never recover.

Our proposition
Our two most popular table wines are our Pinot Noir Rose (Rusty Pony – dry and French in style), and our Semillon Sauvignon blend (Mr Posy – a classic white with tropical notes). Easy drinking, everyday wine. Wine for the people! We propose offering half a dozen of these at significant discounts for a commitment to support us. With your commitment to buy, we can lock in the vintage, and all those cogs in the system will get a little income that will help them, in some small way, to get through this.
We’ve picked these particular wines as they are close to being finished. We won’t string you out waiting for a return on investment. Now, just to be clear, your pledge is a commitment to our campaign – your credit card does not get charged until we meet our target and THEN the fun begins… we’d expect your reward to be available approx 4 weeks from bottling.

But I don’t drink rose or white, where’s the red?
The problem with red wines is that they take a long time to get from the vine to the table, and it doesn’t sit comfortably with us to take your money without giving you anything in return. But fear not! We have a plan. We have our whole 2018 Shiraz vintage yet to be released. It’s currently in storage, biding its time, getting better and better. We’ve decided to offer this also as a means to provide a red option, without the wait. Obviously, with the involvement of oak barrels, and additional time, this will be a little more expensive but oh so worth it.

Sounds sketchy!
We want to assure you, the numbers we’re chasing aren’t pie in the sky. If we don’t hit them, we go to plan B (although we’re not sure what that will be), but if we hit our target, the wines will be made, the end product will be delivered, and you will have kept this little winery, and its suppliers, alive through this difficult time.

But I can buy cheaper wines from the supermarket!
We know, and we get it. When we make wines on the scale that we do, we can’t compete on price alone. What we can guarantee is that you’re getting an honest wine, made with minimal intervention, and made with love. We are a boutique vineyard in a growing wine region and we reckon we’re worth it!

We're nearly at the halfway mark and the support so far has been very humbling. If we can get the rest of the way over the next couple of weeks, we'll be thrilled - the wine will get bottled and the rewards will be on their way to your doors! Please follow our campaign and again, share as much as you can...every little bit is helping.

WOW! Thanks guys! We're on our way thanks to you! Day one and we're a quarter of the way there. Please continue to share our campaign far and wide...the sooner we can have your wine racks topped up, the better!
